I'm having trouble accessing the online library.

Why isn't my log in working? What does this research.strayer.edu error mean?

Answer

The root cause for a library database or resource not loading is most often related to browser cookies and not an error with the website.

Our browsers store cookies each time we visit a website or log in to a service. Periodically our browsers will have too many cookies and they'll conflict. The result is a website failing to load and appearing to be broken.

First: Be patient with us on this, but triple check your username and password. You may accidentally using an old password.

  1. Triple check you are using the correct username and password.
  2. Manually type your username and password. Try the site again.
  3. Consider resetting your password. Try again.

Second: In your preferred browser, start with these troubleshooting steps.

  1. Clear the browser's cookies and cache.
  2. Restart the browser.
  3. Try the site again.

You can restart your computer instead of manually clearing cookies and cache. Your browser may be set to clear when the machine restarts.

Third: If clearing cookies in your preferred browser did not work, try in each of the major browsers.

  • Mozilla Firefox
  • Google Chrome
  • Microsoft Edge

Fourth: If trying Firefox, Chrome, and Edge browsers did not solve the problem, try accessing the website using private or incognito windows in each browser.

  • Google Chrome offers incognito mode
  • Mozilla Firefox and Microsoft Edge offer private mode

Five: If private windows in Firefox, Chrome, and Edge did not work, repeat the strategies above on a different device.
