Q. Can Grammarly.com detect plagiarism?

Does Grammarly.com have a plagiarism checker? Can Grammarly.com fix plagiarism?

While Grammarly.com reports that the tool can "check for plagiarism against an index of publicly accessible websites and major proprietary databases." this means that some items could be missed (Grammarly.com, n.d.).

Grammarly.com can identify text in your writing which matches writing elsewhere - BUT Grammarly.com cannot check if you have an in-text citation or quotation marks. Grammarly.com cannot add citations for you or "fix" plagiarism. That is up to you as the writer!

The best way to avoid plagiarism is to make sure that you properly cite all sources and that you're balancing your claims with the appropriate evidence from sources.
