Q. How many quotes do I need in my writing?

It is possible to have too many citations in your writing. The Academic Integrity Policy defines plagiarism as "copying words or ideas from one or more sources without giving them credit and/or copying the words or ideas from one or more sources that comprise the majority of your work without regard to whether credit is given to those sources or not."

This means that, even if you cite every source you use, you could still be plagiarizing. Every item you submit should have a balance of your voice and evidence to support your claims. We recommend the ACE method to find this balance.
