What are term connectors?

How are term connectors different from Boolean Operators? Where do I use term connectors?

Answer

Nexis Uni Advanced Search uses term connectors. Boolean searches based on relevance; term connectors locate words where they are connected by the term connector. For example, a Boolean search for ‘cars’ and ‘red’ might return articles on red cars. A term connector search, however, for ‘cars and red’ will find all documents with that exact phrase. Other databases may offer term connectors in advanced search features too.
