What is the difference between a popular magazine and a trade magazine?

What is a popular magazine? What is a trade magazine?

Answer

Magazines are periodicals, published at weekly, monthly, quarterly, or other intervals, rather than daily. Popular magazine articles are written by professional writers, often freelancers to entertain or inform a general audience. Some examples of popular magazines: Esquire, People, Rolling Stone, and Time. Whereas, mostly trade magazine articles are written for practitioners of a field by practitioners in that same field. Some examples of trade magazines: American Libraries, Social Work Practice, Professional Nurse, and Farming Magazine.
