What is the purpose of the Strayer Writing Standards?

At Strayer University, we use the Strayer Writing Standards (SWS) – a brief set of guidelines to encourage you to write ethically. SWS has three primary purposes:
- Ensure your writing is professional;
- Avoid plagiarizing others; and
- Give credit to other people's ideas used in your work.
You will use the SWS formatting and citation guidelines throughout your academic journey with Strayer.
