Strayer Writing Standards does not have specific rules on capitalization for section headings. You should use your best judgement for what would be appropriate. When in doubt, consult your instructor.
A common academic writing convention is to use title case and keep under five words. Here are sample headings for a hypothetical paper on writing strategies for college students:
