How do I record audio in a PowerPoint?

Can I narrate a PowerPoint presentation?

Answer

PowerPoint has a built in feature to record narration for a presentation. You must be using the desktop PowerPoint app to take advantage of this feature. The web browser version of PowerPoint does not have built in narration.

When you record the narration, you can set the slides to automatically advance too. This means that your audience does not need to click next slide, but simply sit back to listen and watch. Narration gives you the opportunity to provide additional comments on your slides and explain how images or charts may relate to the text on the slide or your overall message.

If you have speaker notes added to your PowerPoint, even better! The speaker notes will display while you are recording. This gives you the opportunity to write a script in the notes area, then read it aloud during the narration.
