How do I add speaker notes to a PowerPoint?

Where are notes in a PowerPoint? How are notes different than slides?

Answer

PowerPoint offers a notes section under each slide. Many other presentation software offer a notes feature too. To edit notes, float your cursor over the notes area and left click your mouse. You'll see the cursor appear for you to begin typing.

The notes section is helpful while drafting or delivering your presentation. When drafting, you can use it to brainstorm or remind yourself what you still need to edit for that slide. When delivering a presentation, you can use it to hold your talking points or even complete sentences for you to read out as a script.
